Our planet is artificially warming at a pace that will leave earth uninhabitable. Modern transportation relies heavily on petroleum, contributing half of all carbon dioxide emissions in the world. Transportation accounted for 43% of King County Greenhouse Gas emissions in 2019.
Problem Statement
"How might young adults in King County calculate their CO2 emissions from driving and using ride-share services so that they can develop a better idea of how individuals impact the environment and lower their carbon footprint?"

Thanks to Google Maps Platform I was able to incorporate a functioning mapping aspect to our web app. Given the ability to use a map from within the app allowed users to navigate using their target methods of transportation without having to leave the app. This also provided us with accurate data to track users trips and carbon emissions.
